Hopkinsville Girls Fall Short at Madisonville 53-44

Despite 17 points and 16 rebounds from Shiyah Forte, the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers fell just a little short Thursday night at Madisonville-North Hopkins.

Destiny Whitsell had 14 points for the Lady Maroons, who picked up a 53-44 victory.

Madisonville, now 2-0, led just 14-13 after one quarter and 29-25 at halftime.

But the Lady Maroons opened up a 44-34 margin through three quarters.

Alicia Davis added 12 points for Hopkinsville (1-1), which will play again Tuesday. The Lady Tigers will face Breckinridge County that night in the Independence Bank Tip-Off Classic at Owensboro Catholic.
