The University Heights Academy Blazers will be taking the Elvis approach to the holiday season this year, that being ‘Viva Las Vegas’ style. The Blazers will be among the teams from across the country taking part in the 2023 Tarkanian Classic, which will be played in the Las Vegas area.
The Blazers have been placed in the Gatorade Division for the Tarkanian Classic the teams in that bracket along with the Blazers have also been announced.
In addition to University Heights, the teams in the Gatorade Division include El Dorado (Nevada), Fountain Fort Carson (Colorado), Juneau Douglas (Alaska), Maranatha (California), GV Christian (Nevada), Mount Vernon Academy (Utah), Coral Academy (Nevada), De La Salle North Catholic (Oregon), Madison (California), Western (Nevada), Durango (Nevada), Tikigaq (Alaska), CI Gibson (Bahamas).
The first opponent in the Gatorade tournament for University Heights will be Mount Vernon Academy, from Murray, Utah. The Patriots are currently 1-3 after going 16-8 last season. That game is set for Monday, December 18 at 1:30 pm.
The Blazers’ second game of the tournament will be against the winner or loser of the game between Maranatha and GV Christian.
UHA will play four games during their stay in Las Vegas from December 18 through December 21.
