Crittenden County’s girls opened up a tight game in the fourth quarter on the way to a 58-51 win over Caldwell County Tuesday night.
The contest, which was played at Caldwell’s old Butler Gym, saw seven lead changes and five ties before the Lady Rockets grabbed the upper hand over the first 4 minutes of the fourth quarter.
Caldwell (0-3) held a 27-26 lead at halftime before Crittenden (2-1) edged ahead 41-39 entering the final frame.
But the Lady Rockets quickly pushed that two-point edge to double figures. A bucket by Anna Boone put Crittenden up 54-44 with 3:58 left in the game.
The Lady Tigers got only as close as the final seven-point margin after that.
Four Lady Rockets scored in double figures in the contest. Boone and Elliot Evans each had 16 points and seven rebounds while Bristyn Rushing and Jordyn Hodge had 10 points apiece. Rushing also grabbed seven boards.
KeDarriah Thompson had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead Caldwell. Davani Williams added eight points.
Crittenden’s girls will play at home for the first time on Friday when they host 5th District rival Trigg County.
Caldwell will entertain Dawson Springs for 7th District action on Friday.
