Rylee Hendricks is as close to a year-round softball player as you will find. Between high school softball at Trigg County High and the travel circuit, Hendricks has logged enough miles to flip the odometers on several cars.
The Lady Wildcat saw the travel and the work pay off Friday as she signed to continue her softball career at Frontier College.
Hendricks batted .500 during her junior year which saw her set a school record with 46 hits. One-third of her hits went for extra-base hits.
The work Hendricks has put in has shown on the stat sheet for the past two seasons for the Lady Wildcats.
In her two middle school years as a starter, Hendricks hit .225 and struck out every five at-bats.
Like every player in the state, Hendricks lost her 2020 season due to the pandemic.
As a sophomore and junior, Hendricks batted a combined .395 and reduced her strikeout rate to one every 18 at-bats.
Hendricks has played primarily as a middle infielder for Trigg County but can play just about anywhere given her softball skill set.
She will be the lone senior on a Trigg County team expected to compete for the school’s first-ever fastpitch district championship.
Frontier College, located in Fairfield, Illinois, competes in Division I of the National Junior College Athletic Association. The school in recent years has served as a pipeline for western Kentucky softball players looking to advance to the next level.
