The Fort Campbell boys’ basketball team hit the road on Saturday for the second of three straight games away from home, leading host Cloverport from start to finish in a 68-39 victory.
The Falcons snapped a three-game skid to start the season, dominating on the glass and putting three players in double-figures to cruise past the Aces.
Fort Campbell overcame eight first-quarter points from Cloverport’s Cole Weatherholt to lead by eight after one. Ja’Caryous Perriman scored six points in the first, and Lyndell Smith added four to pace the Falcons.
Leading 29-13 at the halftime break, Eric Greene, Perriman, and Jamile Wilson each scored seven in the third to help the Falcons outscore the Aces 27-12 to break the game open. Weatherholt knocked down a pair of threes in the third on the way to a game-high 21 points, but it was too little too late for Cloverport.
Perriman led the Falcons with 15 points and collected nine rebounds. Lashaad Smiley posted a double-double with ten points and 14 boards, and Greene finished with 13 points.
Fort Campbell improved to 1-3 and will look to make it two in a row on the road at Christian Fellowship on Tuesday. The Falcons have won all six meetings in the series, with the last coming in overtime in 2020.
