A graduate transfer year at Jacksonville State University appears to be just what the basketball doctor ordered for former University Heights Academy standout KyKy Tandy. The Xavier grad is having his best season since graduating from UHA, playing for former Western Kentucky University and Kentucky Wesleyan College coach Ray Harper.

Through the first ten games of the 2023-2024 season, Tandy is Jacksonville State’s leading scorer, averaging 17.4 points, and has scored in double-figures in eight games. The other two games, he just missed double-digits with nine points in each.

His high game this season came against South Alabama, as he scorched the Jaguars for 29 points and 5 rebounds.

Tandy made the move to Jacksonville State after four seasons at Xavier. His junior and senior seasons were hampered by injuries, limiting his time on the court for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons. During his freshman year at Xavier, he was named to the Big East All-Freshman team.

Tandy and his Jacksonville State teammates head off for a Big Ten challenge this Thursday as they travel to Wisconsin to take on the Badgers. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
