
Lyon County hasn’t had many chances to bounce back from a loss in the past three years simply because they haven’t lost much.
Coming off a 71-54 loss to Father Tolton Catholic in Missouri on Saturday, the Lyons raced out to a 38-15 first quarter lead and throttled Trigg County 89-43 Tuesday in Eddyville.
Lyon County’s last five wins over Trigg County have come by an average of 46 points. Tuesday’s win was Lyon’s 14th straight over the Wildcats dating back to 2017.
The Lyons came out of the gate hitting 14 of 24 shots and turned Trigg over nine times in the first eight minutes, scoring 17 points off the mistakes.
Lyon County built its lead to 35 points in the second quarter, triggering a running clock for the second half.

The Lyons finished the game shooting 52 percent from the field and knocked down 11 of 26 behind the arc.
Lyon County held a 41-17 advantage on the boards and outscored Trigg 37-5 off turnovers.
Travis Perry led Lyon County with 23 points, hitting 4 of 9 from 3-point range. Brady Shoulders added 20 points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds. Jack Reddick’s stat line showed 13 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, and six steals.
Lance Breckel came off Trigg County’s bench to hit three 3-pointers and score a team-high 11 points. Jhaden Vaughn added eight points and four rebounds.
Lyon County plays at Crittenden County on Friday and will travel 353 miles on Saturday to play Floyd Central at the historic Wayland High gym where King Kelly Coleman starred in the 1950s.
Trigg County finally plays a home game on Friday after five straight road games to begin the season.
