Seniors Hayden Strader and Jamison Glass powered Todd County Central to an early double-digit advantage on Tuesday and the Rebels never looked back on the way to a 68-50 victory over visiting Jo Byrns, TN.

Glass entered the contest averaging over 32 points per game, and his bucket in the lane gave the Rebels a 10-4 advantage midway through the opening quarter.  Freshman Keyshawn Moore drilled a three-pointer and Strader scored on back-to-back possessions to stretch the margin to 11 points and force a Jo Byrns timeout.

Strader sank a three-pointer to cap his seven-point quarter, and the Rebels led by 12 before Jo Byrns’ Adam Cox beat the buzzer with a putback to make it 22-12.

With Todd Central leading by eight in the second quarter, Glass scored seven straight and Devin Schutt capped a 9-0 spurt with a layup for a 31-16 advantage with 4:10 left in the half.  Cox scored 12 in the half for Jo Byrns, and his bucket in the lane trimmed the margin to ten before Glass scored just ahead of the halftime horn.

Strader added nine points in the third to help Todd Central blow the game open.  His pull-up jumper and a three-pointer made it 43-26, and the margin reached 20 points on Moore’s layup with :46 left in the quarter.

The lead ballooned to 25 points in the fourth after a three-point play by Glass, part of a nine-point frame to finish with a game-high 25 points.

Strader finished with 18 for the Rebels, and Moore also reached double figures with 16.

The Rebels will be back in action on Saturday when they face Clinton County at the Don Franklin Barren Hoops Classic.
