Kentucky continues to restock its offense through the football transfer portal.
The latest addition for offensive coordinator Liam Coen is North Texas receiver Ja’Mori Maclin.
The 5-11, 183-pound receiver is the cousin of former NFL wide receiver Jeremy Maclin. He was supposed to take an official visit to LSU but called that off to commit to UK Wednesday. His other recent scholarship offers included Penn State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and others.
The St. Louis native originally signed with Missouri out of high school. He played in only five games during his first two years at Missouri and had just one reception.
He transferred to North Texas State and had 16 catches for 380 yards and two scores in 2022 before exploding this last season with 57 catches for 1,004 yards and 11 touchdowns to earn second-team all-AAC honors.
“It was a family atmosphere,” Maclin told 247Sports. “I really enjoyed being with the coaches and getting to know them. From the start, they’ve shown how much they wanted me to be a part of the program. I took a visit and fell in love with it.
“The area was nice, they have all the resources that I need. I love the offense as well and I can see myself being productive in whatever role they have me in.”
Quarterback Brock Vandagriff also reached out to Maclin after transferring from Georgia to UK last week and that had to have helped convince him to join the Wildcats.
Kentucky has also added Texas A&M WR Raymond Cottrell, Ohio State running back Chip Trayanum and Georgia Southern quarterback Beau Allen via the transfer portal.
