Lania Hite has parlayed her record-setting career at Trigg County High School into a college career at Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro.
Hite signed her letter on Friday at the school at a ceremony in front of friends, teammates, families, and classmates.
She was a prolific scorer for Trigg County, totaling 145 goals in her four years, scoring over two goals a game. Her total is five more than Lauren Frazier, who played for Trigg from 2009-12 and later played at Murray State University.
Hite set a Trigg record in her junior season with 47 goals scored in 19 games in helping Trigg County advance to the region championship for the first time in program history.
She topped her record this past season with 56 goals in earning All-District and All-Region honors.
Hite also ranks in the top two all-time for hat tricks and career multiple-goal games.
Hite has been a Trigg chapter and region office holder for the Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA). She also represented the state at the national conference last month in Austin, Texas, and plans to study business at KWC.
The Panthers finished 2-13-1 last year.
