
Former Christian County baseball standout Elijah Underhill was among those in attendance during Friday night’s doubleheader between Christian County and Hopkinsville. Underhill was officially presented with his Kentucky Mr. Baseball award between the girls’ and boys’ games.
The Kentucky Baseball Coaches Association announced Underhill as Mr. Baseball back in June following the completion of his senior year.
Underhill hit .430 during his senior season with eight home runs and 28 RBI. He also stole 34 bases in 37 attempts. On the mound, Underhill was 6-4 with one save and a 2.65 ERA. He struck out 115 batters in just 66 innings pitched.
Underhill finished his career as the Christian County record holder in home runs.
Underhill is a freshman pitcher/outfielder for the Eastern Kentucky University Colonels.
