The growing pains for the Trigg County Lady Wildcats continued Friday night during a 48-31 loss to Livingston Central at Wildcat Gym.
Turnovers again mounted for Trigg as they fell behind 23-4 to start the game and didn’t get closer than 11 points.
Trigg had seven turnovers in both the first and second quarters that led to 19 Livingston Central points and helped them to a 32-17 halftime lead.
Livingston Central, a 48% free throw shooting team, was 9 for 9 at the line in the first half.
Trigg had more turnovers (7) than shots (6) in the third quarter and scored just two points – a Gabbi McGee layup midway through.
Eighth-grader AJ Navarro came off the bench to score 10 points, and Alivia Norwood hit added eight points and four rebounds. They each hit two 3-pointers.
Victoria Joiner just missed a triple-double for Livingston Central with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and eight steals. Emersyn Ramage added eight points and 13 boards.
Livingston Central, who snapped a 10-game losing streak to Trigg last year, has now won three of the last four meetings.
Livingston Central, Lyon County, and Crittenden County are all 2-1 in district play, while Trigg County drops to 0-3.
