
Caldwell County’s girls placed sixth out of 15 teams on Tuesday in the Lady Colonels Invitational wrestling tournament at Henderson County.
Sophie Parrish turned in the best showing of the day for the Lady Tigers. She had a pair of pins while placing second in the 100-pound division.
Virginia Stewart also had two pins at 235 pounds and earned a fourth-place showing.
T.J. Goodwin recorded one pin while finishing fourth at 114 pounds.
Emma Ward had two pins, both in under a minute, while placing fifth at 185.
Alyvia Barnwell had a pin in only 14 seconds on the way to a sixth-place showing at 120 pounds.
Rylie Bruce finished sixth at 132.
Cammie Cotton had an opening-round pin but did not place at 165.
Caldwell’s girls totaled 73 points in the competition.
West Creek from Clarksville took top team honors, edging runner-up Fort Campbell 122 points to 111.
Henderson County was third with 108 points, followed by Union County with 94 and Evansville Reitz with 78.
Caldwell took sixth, just a point and a half ahead of Ohio County.
Madison Central and McCracken County tied for eighth with 66 points apiece while Bardstown rounded out the Top 10 with 55 points.
Rounding out the team results were Apollo (53), Owensboro (27), South Warren (26), Central Hardin (25) and Trigg County (24).
Caldwell’s girls will be in action again on Wednesday at the Warren County Invitational at South Warren High School in Bowling Green.
