
Christian Doerr and Kyran Tilley combined for 54 points and Evangel Christian shot 54.7 percent from the field while dispatching Rossview (Tenn.) 86-66 Thursday in the West Kentucky Hoops Classic in Princeton.
Doerr and Tilley each scored 27 points for Evangel Christian, which turned a 21-18 edge after one period into a 48-23 bulge at halftime.
The Eagles, now 7-1, made 35 of their 64 field goal attempts, were seven of 20 from behind the arc and hit nine of 11 free throw attempts.
Johnny Djema added seven points and eight rebounds for the Eagles.
Rossview (6-4) got 25 points from Jacob Edwards. Roland Morton had 13 for the Hawks while Jiyair Rose added 10 and Cam Ward had nine.
Tilley and Edwards were the two Hoops Classic Players of the Game.
Both teams will play again Friday at Caldwell County High School. Rossview faces Olive Branch (Miss.) at 2 p.m. while Evangel Christian will meet Knoxville Catholic (Tenn.) at 5 p.m.
