The Todd County Central Rebels got a big day from senior center Jamison Glass and held off a late rally from the Bluegrass Blazers to put an end to their two-game losing skid with an 80-73 win Thursday afternoon in the Rafferty’s Caveland Classic at Edmonson County High School.

The Rebel offense was rolling early against the home school team from Oakland. Glass scored 10 points and the Rebels knocked down three shots from behind the arc to take a 24-16 lead after the opening quarter.

Glass and his teammates kept the offense in high gear during the second quarter. Glass scored 16 of his team’s 22 points in the quarter as the Rebels extended the lead to 46-36 going into the break.

The Blazers were able to have some defensive success after the half. Bluegrass limited Todd County Central to 14 points in the third quarter. A big part of the success was due to controlling Glass and limiting the Todd County Central big man to four points in the quarter as the Blazers cut the lead to 60-56 heading into the last eight minutes of the game.

The Rebels closed out the game and held on for the win by knocking down 10 of 14 free throws in the fourth quarter. Glass added eight points for the Rebels as they picked up the seven-point win.

Jamison Glass finished the game with 38 points. Keshawn Moore added 12, while Hayden Strader ended up with 10 points.

The Rebels (4-5) will finish their appearance in the Caveland Classic Friday as they take on the Owensboro Knights, a home school program from Daviess County.
