The Todd County Central Rebels will head into Christmas with a two-game winning streak for a present. The Rebels got another big game from senior center Jamison Glass and used a big third quarter to pull away to a 70-50 win over the Owensboro Knights, a home-school team from Daviess County, Friday afternoon in their final game in the Rafferty’s Caveland Classic at Edmonson County.

While Glass had a big game, it was Devin Schutt that got the Rebels off to a good start. The Knights held Glass to just two made free throws in the first quarter but Devin Schutt had one of his best quarters of the season, scoring 9 points as Todd County Central took an 18-10 lead.

Glass then got revved up in the second quarter for the Rebels. The big man began to assert himself, scoring seven points in the second as Todd County Central held serve to lead 30-22 at the break.

The second quarter was just the warmup time for Glass in the game. Glass scored eight more coming out of the half in the third quarter. The Rebels also got six each from Hayden Strader and Zack Robinson and the Rebel defense held the Knights to just eight points in the third. The quarter blitz put the Rebels up 50-30 going into the final quarter.

Each team was putting up points at a pretty good clip in the final eight minutes, however, the Knights could not afford to trade baskets and Todd County Central was never seriously threatened over the final 8 minutes of the game.

Jamison Glass continued to put up big scoring numbers, finishing the game with 27 points. Hayden Strader finished with 15 points on five made 3-pointers. Zack Robinson came up with a big afternoon for the Rebels, tossing in 14 points.

Todd County Central (5-5) is now off until Thursday when they will head down to Dover to take part in the Stewart County Christmas Classic.
