
The Lyon County Lady Lyons look to keep rolling at this week’s Kelly Holiday Classic hosted by Bourbon County High School in Paris.
Lyon County is 6-3 and has won three of four games entering the week.
After scoring just 50 points a game through its first five contests, the Lady Lyons have turned up the offense to the tune of 70 points over their last four games.
The three-day event at Bourbon County is a four-team round-robin format. The Lady Lyons will get a tough opener against Christian Academy-Louisville on Wednesday night at 5:30.
The Lady Centurions are 5-4 against one of the tougher schedules in the state. Their four losses are against teams that are 30-10.
CAL, the defending Class 2A state champions, are led by sophomore guard Brianna Wilkins who scores 24 points a game.
On Thursday, Lyon County will play the host Bourbon County at 7:15. The Lady Lyons lost to Bourbon 64-62 in overtime of last year’s event.
Bourbon County opened the season with eight straight losses before a 60-39 win over Robertson County on Thursday.
Lyon County will conclude play in the tournament on Friday with a noon matchup against Lafayette. The Generals are 6-2.
