There aren’t many athletes busier than Julia Munoz.
Cross Country in the fall. Bowling and powerlifting in the winter. Track and Field in the spring — four sports that travel the spectrum of exertion, teamwork, individual accomplishment, and intensity.
Munoz manages to harness all of those characteristics for Christian County athletics. The running sports she has been doing for a while and is a key member of both the cross country and track and field teams.
She is in her second season on the Colonel bowling team and plans to compete in powerlifting later in the winter. A senior, Munoz has goals set for each of her sports. She hopes a high score at the region tourney turns into her first trip to the state bowling tournament.
She also hopes rapid improvement in powerlifting will pay off in the spring when she runs middle distance and competes in the jumping events for the CCHS track and field team.
A solid student in the classroom, Munoz is working to become a nurse practitioner after high school.
