
The Trigg County Wildcats found its home court to its liking after a 1-4 start on the road. Trigg won three straight games at Wildcat Gym, including its first Chappel Allen Memorial Classic title in six years.
Now an even four up and four down, the Wildcats hope to replicate its home magic this week at the Rhea County Holiday Classic in southeastern Tennessee.
Trigg County will play Ooltewah High Wednesday afternoon at 4:00. During its three-game winning streak, the Wildcats are scoring 65 points a game and shooting 45% from the field compared to 52 points and 40% in its first five games.
The Ooltewah Owls are 2-8 and average just 41 points a game while playing in Tennessee’s Class 4A.
Rhea County, the host school, is in Trigg County’s side of the bracket and brings a 16-2 record into the week.
Other schools in the three-day event are Sweetwater (4-6), Red Boiling Springs (2-5), Chattanooga Prep (6-3), Knoxville Central (7-8), Beech (7-1), Knox Bearden (15-2), and Hughes, Ohio (4-2).
