Lady Colonels Advance to Vanous Lloyd Title Game with Win Over Harlan

The Christian County Lady Colonels are headed to the championship game of the 2023 Vanous Lloyd Christmas Tournament at Warren Central High School. The Lady Colonels got big third quarters from Lazarie Daniel and DaNiya Bradley to break open a tight contest and pick up a 62-48 win over Harlan Thursday afternoon.

The game was tightly contested throughout the first half. The Lady Colonels took a 14-12 lead after the opening quarter. The Lady Dragons played right with Christian County in the second quarter as the two teams went to the break with the Lady Colonels up 25-23.

Coming out of the break, Daniel and Bradley combined to score 12 points for the Lady Colonels in the third quarter. The Christian County defense limited Harlan to just eight points, all of them coming from junior Aymanni Wynn, as the Lady Colonels extended the lead to 43-31 heading into the fourth.

Anaysia Bagwell took over down the stretch for Christian County over the final eight minutes, scoring ten points, as the Lady Colonels fended off any possible late-game rally from the Lady Dragons.

Bagwell finished the day with 18 points to lead Christian County. Lazarie Daniel scored 16, and had five rebounds, while DaNiya Bradley added 11 for the Lady Colonels. NeVaeh Day also hit double figures with ten and added five rebounds.

Harlan was led by Aymanni Wynn with 23 points. Kylie Noe chipped in with 15.

Christian County improves to 5-7 and moves on to Friday night’s championship game of the tournament.
