Looking to win for the second time in as many days at the City of Middletown Holiday Classic on Thursday, the Hopkinsville Tigers saw a narrow fourth-quarter lead evaporate in a 77-69 loss to Oldham County.

Oldham’s Max Green outdueled Hoptown’s Antonio Williams, drilling seven threes to finish with a game-high 44 points.  The Colonels won for the fourth straight time to improve to 8-4 while the Tigers slipped to 6-6.

Green connected on a trio of first-quarter three-pointers to score 13 points and give Oldham a 20-15 advantage.  Green duplicated his effort in the second, but Williams and DeReion Dudley combined for 12 for the Tigers and DeAvery Ramey added six to trim the Colonels’ lead to 38-36 at halftime.

The Tigers surged in front in the third behind 11 points for Williams and held a one-point edge to start the fourth quarter.  But Green wouldn’t be denied, tacking on 13 more points in the final frame to overcome six each from Williams and Dudley and outscore Hopkinsville 25-16.

The game featured 11 lead changes and ten ties before Oldham pulled away in the final minutes.  The Colonels won the rebounding battle 42-35 and knocked down nine three-pointers for the game.
