Logan Parker’s last-second basket from the block forced overtime, where the Marshall County Marshals were able to pull out to a 68-62 win over the Hopkinsville Tigers to wrap up the first day of the City of Hopkinsville Holiday Classic at Hopkinsville High School.

Parker’s basket to force the extra period came after Hopkinsville’s Deavery Ramey put the Tigers on the verge of a regulation win with a deep three that dipped in, spun out, and then dropped through to give the Tigers a 58-56 lead with 17.4 seconds left in the game.

The game was an uptempo, physical contest from the beginning. The Marshals scored the first six points of the night and held an 11-8 lead after the opening quarter.

With Antonio Williams, who scored 15 points in the first half, leading the way, Hopkinsville battled back and took a 29-27 lead into the break.

Led by Matthew Langhi and Tommy Robertson, Marshall County scored the first six points of the second half and took a 37-12 lead early on in the third quarter. But back came the Tigers.

DeReion Dudley got his offense going in the second half and, paired up with Antonio Williams, helped put the Tigers back in front after three 47-44.

Hopkinsville’s lead was as many as five in the final eight minutes of regulation before the teams swapped the lead four times in the final couple of minutes of regulation.

Antonio Williams had another big night for Hopkinsville, finishing with 27 points. DeReion Dudley also hit double figures with 11 before fouling out late. Deavery Ramey ended up with 8 points.

For Marshall County, Matthew Langhi had 19 points. Logan Parker added 16 and Tommy Robertson finished with 15.

Hopkinsville falls to 6-9 with the loss, which was the Tigers’ fourth straight. They are back in action Saturday night when they host former Hopkinsville coach Tim Haworth and Louisville Male in the final night of the City of Hopkinsville Holiday Classic.
