
The Caldwell County and Dawson Springs girls’ basketball teams met for the 100th time Friday night at Panther Gym.
The Lady Tigers have now won 90 of those after routing a young and shorthanded Lady Panther team 66-9 in 7th District action.
Caldwell’s girls won for the third time in their last four games while improving to 4-8 overall and 2-0 in district play.
The Lady Tigers used a school-record 43-0 run to take control of the contest.

It was an 11-4 game with just under 2 minutes left in the first quarter.
But Dawson could not find the range again until just over 2 minutes into the fourth quarter. By then, it was 55-6.
Caldwell outscored Dawson 29-0 in the second period to get to halftime with a 46-4 advantage.
The second half was played with a running clock as the Lady Tigers defeated the Lady Panthers for the 13th straight time. Caldwell has won 28 of the last 29 get-togethers.
The Lady Tigers got incredibly balanced scoring in the win.
Brylee Butts had 13 points, Nyla Sykes 12 and Med Thomas 10. Jakhia Copeland had nine while Tink Clark scored eight.

Kim Hoover had seven points for the Lady Panthers, who are now 2-7 overall and 0-4 in district play.
The nine points scored by Dawson are the second-fewest ever by a Lady Tiger opponent. Caldwell defeated Fort Campbell 46-6 in December 2017.
Caldwell’s girls will play their fourth game in five days on Saturday afternoon when they go to Ohio County (3-11).
