The Todd County Central boys’ basketball team endured its lowest-scoring night of the season on Monday in a 51-20 4th Region All ‘A’ loss to visiting Cumberland County.
The Rebels couldn’t lift the lid on the basket and were outmuscled on the backboards on the way to a second-straight loss that leaves them at 7-7 on the season.
Cumberland County won its second straight, jumping in front 17-8 in the first quarter behind six points for Aiden Branham and five from Byren Crawley. Hayden Strader’s three-pointer pulled the Rebels even at 8-8, but Cumberland capped a 9-0 run with Branham’s halfcourt three-pointer at the buzzer and never looked back.

Kenyin Coleman provided all of the Rebels’ offense in the second with six points, and Ray Harwood scored seven to help the Panthers outscore Todd Central by seven to lead 30-14 at the break.
Jamison Glass’ bucket in the lane was all Todd Central managed in the third, and while the Rebels were stingy on the defensive end, Crawley scored six of his game-high 15 for a comfortable 40- 16 cushion after three quarters.
Todd Central only connected on eight shot attempts for the game, with the 20 points less than half of the Rebels’ previous lowest output of the season.

The Rebels return to the court on Friday with a trip to Logan County, looking to extend a four-game winning streak against their 13th-District rivals.
