Caldwell Advances Past Livingston in All A Classic

Caldwell County will get a matchup against tournament favorite Lyon County after winning at Livingston Central Tuesday night in 2nd Region All A Classic action.

Jaydarius Wilson led four Tigers in double figures with 19 points Caldwell defeated Livingston 72-52 to advance to Friday’s semifinals at Crittenden County.

Caldwell will take on Lyon County (16-1) in the late game Friday after the Lyons rolled past Crittenden 104-55 on Tuesday. University Heights Academy and Dawson Springs will meet in the first semifinal after wins on Tuesday.

The Tigers, now 7-5, used a strong finish to the first half to get to the break with a 36-23 advantage.

Caldwell led 53-37 through three quarters while winning for the fourth time in its last five outings.

Jack Roach added 13 points for the Tigers while Demaurius Thompson had 12. Carter Whittington finished with 10.

Collin Whittington had eight points for Caldwell but had to leave the contest in the second half with an apparent head injury. Whittington was reportedly doing better after the game while awaiting a cat scan at the hospital.

Caldwell has won eight of its last nine meetings with the Cardinals. The Tigers lead the all-time series 75-52.
