Midway through the second half at Florida Saturday there was no guarantee how much more Aaron Bradshaw was going to play for Kentucky.

Certainly the thought of him becoming Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Year was not even a topic to consider. However, he came to life the final 9 minutes, 5 seconds and scored all 10 of his points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with about 1 1/2 minutes to play on the possession after he blocked a Florida shot.

He also had seven rebounds and two steals in the 87-85 victory and did indeed earn SEC Freshman of the Week honors (teammates Reed Sheppard and D.J. Wagner have also both won the award this season).

Bradshaw is averaging 7.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per game since returning from his offseason foot injury. He’s had at least one block in five of six games he’s played to provide rim protection for UK and has scored in double figures three times.

He’s topped double figure scoring three times and has at least one block in all but one of his six appearances on the season.

Kentucky hosts Missouri tonight at 7 (the game airs on ESPN).
