Brock Vandagriff transferred from Georgia to Kentucky in large part to play for UK offensive coordinator Liam Coen.
He wanted the former NFL coach to help tutor him and prepare him to play quarterback in the NFL. His father said numerous NFL sources recommended Coen as the perfect offensive coordinator for his son.
So what happens now that Vandagriff is at UK if Coen would leave for another job since his name has been associated with both a potential NFL or college job?
Vandagriff told WKYT-TV that he’s talked about that possibility and understands that college football is a business for coaches and players.
“Coach Coen, I would want him to do what is best for his family,” the quarterback told WKYT. “I love coach Coen and trust coach Coen based on the limited time we have known each other.
“That’s why I came here for, coach Coen, but football is a business. Whatever he does I want to make sure he is happy. We would love for him to stay and that is what we are hoping for.”
If not, we’ll see what happens with Vandagriff who certainly is saying the right things so far.

Scary times. At least BB is looking good!
Coen is a good offensive coordinator but I think he is a tad bit overrated. He went to the Rams who just won a super bowl and was the offensive coordinator and did a horrible job. They didn’t even make the playoffs with him as the coordinator. He got what is called silently fired that’s why he came back to Kentucky if he leaves for the Bears or another team and they struggle he will be fired once again. Kentucky shouldn’t have been a soft landing spot for him. There is alot of upcoming offensive coordinators who are just as good if not better than Coen. How many times did you scratch your head last year and say what the heck was that? He also said Leary wad going to be a all sec caliber quarterback and as you seen with your own eyes that observation was well off.
Sad thing is he’s probably a better recruiter than OC.
