Aaliyah Gilbert finds herself back in the pool after a year off, which has been a pattern for the Christian County junior.
She has been swimming since the seventh grade but is in her third season in the pool.
“I always take a leap year to maybe try something new but come back to swimming because I love it. It’s the people. There are great girls that always comfort you and always there for you and the coaches motivate me. Swimming is my passion,” she said.
Gilbert is also a part of two relays for the Lady Colonels in addition to her individual events.
