
Trigg County hadn’t played a game in 12 days and on Tuesday it showed.
The Lady Wildcats fell behind 13-0 and couldn’t overcome Livingston Central stretches of 14-0 in the first half and 24-0 in the second half in a 57-17 loss to the Lady Cardinals.
Trigg County fell to 0-4 in the district standings and will be the fourth seed in next month’s district tournament at Lyon County.
In last month’s 48-31 loss to the Lady Cardinals in Cadiz, Trigg fell behind 23-4 and never recovered.
History repeated on Tuesday as 16 first half turnovers led to 20 Livingston points and a 30-9 halftime deficit.
Livingston won all the statistical categories, outrebounding Trigg 32-18 and shooting 22 free throws to Trigg’s three.
Emersyn Ramage led the Lady Cardinals with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Victoria Joiner also had a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards.
Trigg County got five points from Alivia Norwood and four from Reese Bush and Evonna McGee. The Lady Wildcats played without their leading scorer A.J. Navarro who was home sick.
Livingston Central evened its season record at 6-6 and concludes district play at 3-3. The Lady Cardinals have won three of its last four games against Trigg after snapping a 10-game losing streak.
Trigg County will play at Hopkinsville on Thursday and visit Webster County on Friday.
