The Caldwell County wrestling team claimed third place at the Class 1A State Dual Championships on Saturday.
The event featured the top 12 teams in three classes squaring off in a dual-match format in Bardstown.
In their first match, Caldwell easily defeated Floyd Central 65-6, winning 10 of the 11 head-to-head matches.
The Tigers defeated Walton-Verona 48-34 in their second match, going 6-4 in contested matches.
In their third head-to-head battle, the Tigers lost to LaRue County by a slim 36-33 margin. Caldwell won six of the 10 contested matches but LaRue earned points for three forfeit wins because Caldwell didn’t have a wrestler in the weight class.
