The Tiger Wrestling Club k-2 girls wrestling team has done it again.

The team drove 5 hours to take a shot at completing the sweep of the TNAAU Top 100 series in Cleveland, Tenn., this weekend. The girls came out strong.

Una Ferguson was able to beat all four of her opponents to secure first place.

Claudia Ferguson was able beat all four of her opponents as well to claim the title in her weight class. This included her first ever win against a tough wrestler from Blackman Wrestling Club.

Jayde McIntosh went 2-0 with two pins to secure her third first-place of the series. She also was double bracketed and competed in the 3rd-5th grade bracket as well and went 1-2 with a tech fall.

Freya Bruce had a tough bracket and wrestled to a fourth-place finish.

Rylee Bonnell, the lone kindergartner in the group, took on a weight class of second graders and went 1-2, taking fifth place.

When all the wrestling was done, the Tiger Wrestling Club had a total of 46 team points and were able to secure the team title and complete the sweep.

Second place Higher Calling was 20 points behind the Tigers.

Claudia Ferguson was also awarded her second Most Outstanding Wrestler by getting the most pins in the age group in the shortest time. She had three pins in 1:01.

Una Ferguson finished second in that category while McIntosh was in sixth and Bonnell finished in 11th.

Due to the team winning all three legs of this series, the TNAAU has invited the girls to participate in the AAU spring nationals in Kingsport, Tenn., in March of this year.

“We are so proud of the hard work these ladies have put in this season and it is definitely showing on the mat,” noted coach Bryan Bonnell.
