Sunday morning brought some great news that sports fans across the area and across the state had been hoping and praying for over the course of the weekend.
After taking a scary fall Friday night in a game against Christian County, there was especially good news for University Heights Academy’s Tylin George Sunday. Tylin was discharged from Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and allowed to head home.
He had been at the hospital since being transported to Nashville after the injury occurred during the game. Tylin went in for a dunk in the final minute of the game and when he came down from the basket, he landed on his head and neck area.
Players and officials on the floor immediately began calling for assistance and the game was called with 29 seconds left on the clock.
He was transported from the gym at treated at Vanderbilt Friday night before being admitted.
Tylin suffered a broken collarbone as a result of the fall.
After a couple of days of evaluation and monitoring, doctors made the decision to allow Tylin to go home early Sunday morning.
