Area Bowlers Wrap Up Season at Regional Tournament

The high school bowling season came to a conclusion for three area teams over the weekend with the regional bowling tournament in Bowling Green. Bowlers from second-year programs Hopkinsville and Christian County, along with the fledgling program at Heritage Christian Academy, were among those competing for a chance to go to the state tournament.

While no local bowlers qualified to advance, the programs continued to make progress in the early days of their existence.

In boys singles, Christian County’s Jerry Foster and Aiden Lewis, along with Hopkinsville’s Ethan Brake and John Stewart, all rolled 500+ series, with each having one game over 200. Stewart had the highest game of the area bowlers with a 216 in the final game of his 3-game series.

In the boys’ team championship bracket, McCracken County beat Hopkinsville 220-202, 223-150, and 148-135.

Graves County beat Christian County 234-184, 210-179, 222-155.

In the girls’ singles competition, Heritage Christian Academy had the top two finishers among area teams. Sisters Braelyn Windle and Alayna Windle both rolled 400+ series. Alayna Windle had the high game among area bowlers with 160.

In the girls’ team championship bracket, South Warren defeated Christian County 182-84, 139-115, and 192-103.
