Fort Campbell’s Rosella Rajj very nearly won the Lady Falcons game by herself in terms of points Monday night. Rajj scored 32 points as the Lady Falcons won for the second time in their last three games with a 51-33 home-court win over the Dawson Springs Lady Panthers.
Rajj scored 25 of her points in the first half, 18 of them in the second quarter when the Lady Falcons put 22 points on the board. Rajj added 9 rebounds to her effort.
Dawson Springs actually led the game after the first quarter, holding a 10-8 lead. Then things fell apart for the Lady Panther.
Fort Campbell’s defense limited Dawson to one field goal and one free throw in the second as Rajj and the Falcons bolted out to a 30-13 halftime lead.
The Lady Falcon defense held the Lady Panthers to just four points in the third quarter as they extended the lead to 40-17. Jerni Hicks came up with a big quarter for Fort Campbell, scoring six points in the third.
Dawson Springs got a big final quarter from Kimberly Hoover, but the lead was too much for the Lady Panthers to overcome as Fort Campbell took the 18-point win.
In addition to the 32 points for Rosella Rajj, Jerni Hicks and Saniyah Bell scored six points each for the Lady Falcons. Madison Newingham finished with four points and pulled down 17 rebounds.
