
The Hopkinsville boys’ basketball team raced out to a 32-8 lead after the first quarter on Wednesday and never looked back in a 90-32 victory over 8th-District rivals Fort Campbell, the Tigers’ 37th win in a row in the series with the Falcons.
Keontae Radford knocked down a pair of three-pointers and Antonio Williams added eight points to pace the Tigers in the first quarter. DeReion Dudley added five points and Hopkinsville led 32-8 after one.
Eric Greene scored five for the Falcons in the second quarter, and Lashaud Smiley and Tyreek Anthony combined for eight, but the Tigers continued to expand the lead behind seven points from DeAvery Ramey and six for Williams. Hopkinsville led 59-23 at the halftime break to trigger a running clock in the second half.
The Falcons managed a single bucket in the third quarter, with Williams scoring eight points to help the Tigers tack on 13 more points to the deficit. Williams finished with a game-high 22 points, joined in double figures by Radford with 15, and Jonathan Hart and Ramey with 11 each.
Fort Campbell dropped its seventh straight to slip to 4-10 ahead of a visit from Cloverport on Saturday. The Falcons won the season’s first meeting with the Aces 68-39.
Hopkinsville improved to 8-13 with the program’s first meeting with Heritage Christian Academy coming up on Saturday.
