The Fort Campbell Falcons put an end to their seven-game losing skid in a big way Saturday afternoon. The Falcons celebrated Senior Day by getting three players in double figures and soaring past the Cloverport Aces 71-50.
The Aces stayed with the Falcons early in the game thanks to some timely outside shooting from Caydin Greenwood and Hunter Bradley. Thanks to 10 points early from senior Maurice Moore, Fort Campbell led 15-13 after the opening quarter and extended the lead to 34 to 27 at the break.
The Falcon offense then came out of the break flying high. With one of their best quarters of the season, the Falcons put up 28 points in the third and delivered the knockout blow as they ran the lead out to 62-38 heading into the fourth.
Eric Greene played a big role in the third-quarter explosion, putting up 10 of 16 points to help Fort Campbell effectively put the game away.
Maurice Moore celebrated his Senior Day with a 20-point performance to lead the Falcons. In addition to Greene’s 16 points, Tyreek Anthony also hit double-digits with 10.
Cole Weatherholt had a big second half to lead Cloverport with 18 points. Hunter Bradley added 16 for the Aces.
Fort Campbell improves to 5-10 with the win. The Falcons head to University Heights Monday night for an 8th District contest in Blazer Gym.
