UHA Prepping for State Indoor Meet at Louisville Indoor Games

University Heights Academy is preparing to compete in its first indoor state track meet next month with a series of events in the coming weeks.

The Blazers and Lady Blazers competed at the Louisville Indoor Games held on Saturday at the Norton Healthcare Sports and Learning Center.

UHA’s relay teams had exceptional days as the girls’ 800-meter relay team finished in 12th place with a time of 1:58.75.

The boys’ 800-meter relay team came in eighth place in 1:36.88.

BOYS RESULTS

Clayton Lester – 37th in the 200-meter dash (23.65) and 43rd in the 400-meter dash (54.61)

Ryan Luckey – 68th in the 200-meter dash (24.42) and 120th in the 60-meter dash (7.85)

Hayden Hunt – 77th in the 60-meter dash (7.59)

Logan Miller – 79th in the 200-meter dash (24.70); 104th in the 400-meter dash (1:01.55); 109th in the 60-meter dash (7.77).

Jude Finch – 109th in the one-mile run (5:39.63) and 127th in the 800-meter run (2:37.40).

Brayden DeArmond – 128th in the 400-meter dash (1:19.16)

GIRLS RESULTS

Skylar Cantrell – 47th in the 800-meter run (2:43.30) and 72nd in the 400-meter dash (1:10.22)

Kendall Hancock – 56th in the 400-meter dash (1:06.11)

Ajae Oatts – 83rd in the 60-meter dash (8.79)

Alyssa Grice – 102nd in the 60-meter dash (8.96) and 105th in the 200-meter dash (30.56)

Kate Cayce – 123rd in the 60-meter dash (9.24)

University Heights Academy is scheduled to run in the Eastern Indoors next week in Louisville.

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association sanctioned indoor track as a sport last summer and will hold its first state indoor track meet on March 2 in Louisville.
