Giltner’s Double-Double Paces Warriors in Win Over Foundation Christian

Heritage Christian Academy freshman Layton Giltner had a night on Tuesday against visiting Foundation Christian, finishing with 17 points and pulling down 16 rebounds to send the Warriors to a 69-52 victory.

HCA completed a season sweep over the Falcons and evened its record at 11-11 ahead of a matchup with Stewart County, TN on Thursday.  Foundation Christian saw a four-game winning run come to an end to slip to 11-9.

The Warriors took control behind 12 early points for Jason Leek, leading 20-2 after the first quarter.  Foundation Christian answered with 11 combined points for Will Cummins and Mason Moore, but Leek added seven in the second frame for an 18-point halftime advantage.

Cash Bolinger had the hot hand after the break, scoring the Warriors’ first eight points to stretch the margin to 22.  Giltner scored seven straight on the way to nine in the third quarter, and Bolinger drilled his third three-pointer for a 61-29 lead.

Heritage put it on cruise control in the fourth, and Foundation Christian took the opportunity to make the final margin more respectable.  Moore scored nine to finish with a team-high 21 points, and Cummins added five to help the Falcons outscore HCA 23-8.

Leek scored a game-high 24 and collected six rebounds, and Bolinger finished with 12 for the Warriors.
