No OC, No Problem as Four-Star WR Quintin Simmons Commits to UK

Vince Marrow has helped bring some amazing talent to the Kentucky football program and won some big-time recruiting battles, especially in recent years.

However, Marrow may have done one of his best overall jobs getting a commitment from four-star receiver Quintin Simmons of Cincinnati Withrow High School. The 6-0, 175-pound Simmons is ranked as a top 175 player nationally and No. 15 receiver by 247Sports and had offers from Penn State, Michigan, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Purdue, Louisville, Michigan State, Syracuse and others.

Simmons was at UK’s Junior Day Saturday and gave his verbal commitment to UK even though the Cats currently are without an offensive coordinator after Liam Coen’s departure to the Tampa Bay Bucs. That’s a huge win for Marrow, who has been sensational recruiting Ohio, to land a receiver who is compared to UK sophomore receiver Barion Brown.

Simmons has made numerous visits to Kentucky and is a teammate of 2024 UK cornerback signee Terhyon Nichols.

He is Kentucky’s second commit in the 2025 recruiting class as he joins three-star quarterback Stone Saunders, who committed while Coen was UK’s offensive coordinator. Saunders reached out on social media to welcome Simmons to Kentucky after his commitment.

  1. Surprised that we haven’t heard at least some rumors on a OC prospect. Makes one wonder if Stoops did have a backup plan working in last couple weeks or is this position maybe not as attractive as we were hoping. This may be on Stoops also.
