Lyon County’s dead-eye accuracy from behind the arc fed a second quarter flurry that led the Lady Lyons to a 64-26 win over Trigg County on Tuesday in Cadiz.
The win wrapped up the district’s No. 1 seed for the Lady Lyons, who will face No. 4 seed Trigg County in the district tournament later this month in Eddyville.
Lyon County hit 8 of 16 shots in the second quarter with five coming behind the arc. This came when Trigg County failed to make a field goal over the final 5:33 of the half and saw Lyon extend a three-point lead to a 36-13 lead at halftime.
Lyon County’s defense also forced 32 Trigg turnovers that led to 44 Lady Lyon points.
Trinity Taylor hit three of Lyon’s 10 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 16 points. Piper Cotham added 12 points and eight steals.
Reese Bush led Trigg County with 14 points.
Both teams will face former 5th District rival Caldwell County later in the week. Trigg County will visit on Thursday, while Lyon County will make the trek to Princeton on Friday.
