A 31-3 run in the first half helped Caldwell County’s girls pick up their second win over Trigg County in the last eight days.

Tink Clark scored a career-high 26 points as the Lady Tigers beat the Lady Wildcats 62-32 Thursday night at the CAB gym in Princeton.

Caldwell won 55-37 the previous week in Cadiz.

Trigg (3-20) got out to an early 8-3 lead in the rematch. However, the Lady Wildcats then went 14:35 without a field goal.

That enabled Caldwell (7-16) to put together its big run to take control of the contest.

By the time Brylee Butts scored with 1:15 left in the first half, the Lady Tigers had a 34-11 advantage.

The difference was 37-13 at halftime.

Caldwell’s largest lead of the night came with the final 30-point margin.

Butts added 18 points for the Lady Tigers while Jakhia Copeland had seven points and eight rebounds.

Evonna McGee topped the Trigg scoresheet with 16 points. Veyda Grinols had nine points and 13 rebounds. Landi Rogers added seven points.

Caldwell shot just 36.7 percent from the floor (22 of 60), but made nine of 21 shots from behind the 3-point arc for 42.9 percent.

Trigg made 20.8 percent overall (10 of 48) and was just 4 of 22 from long range (18.2 percent).

Caldwell’s girls play at home again on Friday against Lyon County.
