With changes in coaching and some other issues as the season approaches, the Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors softball team’s first season as a full member of the KHSAA will find the team not competing for the 8th District. School officials recently announced that decision for the 2024 season.
The team will play a reduced regular season schedule, but will not be competing for the 8th District championship come the postseason.
Darrell Crawford was announced as the new head coach for the Lady Warriors last summer, but school officials say Crawford felt he needed to step away from the program.
Ashley Tejada has been selected to coach the Lady Warriors for the 2024 season.
HCA is scheduled to open the 2024 softball season March 11 at home against the Dawson Springs Lady Panthers.
