The Stewart County, TN girls’ basketball team found Heritage Christian Academy’s gym to its liking on Thursday night, knocking down 15 three-pointers on the way to a 76-11 victory over the Lady Warriors.
The Lady Rebels raced out to a 26-0 first-quarter lead, with Madison Maria connecting on a pair of three-pointers to post eight points and Lizzy Guynn adding six.
Lauren Loftus scored all four of her points for the Lady Warriors in the second quarter, but Jaelyn Newman and Maria combined for 10 to help Stewart County to a 45-8 halftime advantage.
With a running clock in the second half, HCA went scoreless in the third quarter. Newman scored six in the third on two triples, and Stewart County got five points from Faith Dacus to stretch the margin to 58.
St. Martin’s fourth-quarter three was the Lady Warriors’ only bucket of the second half. Maria drilled four three-pointers on the way to a game-high 16 points, and Kinsley Smith matched that performance from behind the arc to finish with 12. Lexy Nelson hit three threes and scored 11 points, and Newman also reached double figures with ten.
The Lady Warriors will hit the road on Friday to face Community Christian, looking to avenge a 50-28 loss earlier this season.
