With Caldwell up 18-16 midway through the second period, Lyon scored seven straight points — capped by a 3-pointer by Lilly Perry — to take the lead for good.

Three-pointers by Gracen Wynn and Trinity Taylor put Lyon up 33-21 with just over a minute left in the first half.

Caldwell tried to get back in the game in the third quarter.

Down 39-25, the Lady Tigers put together a 12-3 burst, getting within 42-37 on two free throws by Tink Clark.

But that’s as close as Caldwell could get

Piper Cotham knocked in a 3 just ahead of the horn to send Lyon to the final frame with a 51-39 lead.

The Lady Lyons led by as much as 16 in the fourth quarter and Caldwell could get no closer than nine, 57-48, with a minute and a half to play in the game.

Taylor finished with 16 points and 15 rebounds to lead Lyon, which held a 34-26 advantage on the glass.

Cotham added 11 points and Wynn hit three 3-pointers for nine.

Brylee Butts had 16 points to lead Caldwell. Med Thomas added 10.

Lyon has taken five straight from Caldwell and seven of the last eight meetings.

The Lady Lyons return to the court quickly, hosting Kenwood in the Akridge Ace Hardware Shootout at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Caldwell next goes to Livingston Central on Monday.
