The Triple-Double Watch was in effect Monday night at Crittenden County.

Caldwell County junior Jaydarius Wilson had nine points, nine rebounds and seven blocked shots at halftime.

Wilson fell just short of the statistical rarity, but still had a big night as the Tigers posted a 72-38 victory over the homestanding Rockets.

The Caldwell big man finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds, but didn’t have many opportunities for blocked shots in the second half and finished the night with the seven swats.

Crittenden (3-19) led twice early and tried to keep the game close in the first half.

It was 14-12 just over 2 minutes into the second period. But a 14-2 run by Caldwell helped open up the contest.

Caldwell (15-9) took a 32-15 lead to halftime, then used a 16-0 run early in the third period to essentially put the contest away.

A lob from Demaurius Thompson to Wilson put an exclamation point on the run and gave Caldwell a 48-17 lead.

The Tigers hit the 35-point mercy rule on a three-point play by Gus Fox with 58 seconds left in the third period. That made it 58-23.

Carter Whittington added 13 points for Caldwell.

Bryson Walker had 20 points to lead Crittenden.

The Tigers have taken their last three meetings with the Rockets. Caldwell has won nine of the last 10.

The Tigers will next play at home on Thursday night, hosting Mayfield.

With six games left in the regular season, Caldwell needs one more victory to assure itself of a winning season. The Tigers will play four of their remaining games at home.
