For Trigg County, a six-game losing streak one week ahead of the district tournament isn’t ideal. The Wildcats will have two chances to end the spiral before next week following Monday’s 73-42 loss at Union County.

The 29-point loss is the worst suffered to the Braves since a 94-58 loss in 1993.

Jaidyn Wilson scored six of his team-high 16 points in a second quarter that saw Union County outscore Trigg 23-8 and build a 40-18 halftime lead.

Trigg County shot 31 percent from the field and was outrebounded 35-19.

Jhaden Vaughn scored 21 points and grabbed five rebounds for the Wildcats. Caleb Fogle hit three fourth-quarter 3-pointers to finish with nine points.

Trigg County fell to 2-15 this season when allowing 60 or more points.

On Tuesday, the Wildcats will face another 6th District team when they host Henderson County. Trigg will close out the regular season on Friday at home against Todd County Central.
