Travis Perry has been voted the Second Region Player of the Year by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches.

The Lyon County senior guard who has signed with the University of Kentucky is already the state’s all-time leading scorer with over 5,200 points.

Perry is the Kentucky record holder for career points, field goals made, field goals attempted, three-pointers made, three-pointers attempted and made free throws.

He is averaging 30 points a game in helping the Lyons to a 27-3 record and a No. 1 seed in this week’s 5th District Tournament.

Perry, who is considered the favorite to win Kentucky Mr. Basketball, gets an automatic nomination for the award and receives an invite to try out for the Kentucky All-Star team that annually plays Indiana.
