The Todd County Central Rebels are looking to defend their title and earn their third straight trip to Diddle Arena for the 4th Region tournament as the 13th District tournament gets underway Monday night at Russellville High School.
The Rebels will wait until Tuesday night at 7:30 for their semifinal matchup against Logan County, which ought to be a battle. Todd County Central (13-15) and Logan County (14-15) split their two regular season contests.
The Rebels lost by 12 on the Cougars home floor, while picking up a tough 6-point overtime win in Elkton on February 2. Todd County Central has won six of the last seven games in the series.
The Rebels will be looking for a big night from big man Jamison Glass to return to the title game. Glass is among the state’s leading scorers at nearly 27 points per game.
The boys’ tourney gets underway Monday night at 7:30 as top-seeded Franklin-Simpson (14-12) will take on Russellville (5-25). The Wildcats picked up double-digit wins in both regular season meetings and have won 13 of the last 14 between the two teams.
The two winners will play for the 13th District championship Friday night at 7:00.
