Lyon County showed up to Jason White Gymnasium on Tuesday with its lunch pail and hard hats and produced a business-like 88-44 win over Crittenden County in the 5th District Tournament semifinals.
Already the first team in district history to win five straight titles, the Lyons will gun for number six on Friday against Trigg County, a 73-48 winner over Livingston Central in the other semifinal.
Travis Perry knocked down three 3-pointers and scored 11 points as the Lyons jumped to a 15-0 lead. Bryson Walker connected on a long-range shot to get Crittenden on the board at the 2:11 mark of the quarter.
Crittenden wouldn’t get any closer than 14 points as the Lyons led 25-3 after one quarter.
The Lyons hit seven 3-pointers in the first half – six by Perry – in building a 48-20 halftime lead. The University of Kentucky signee had 25 points by halftime and finished with 31 points despite playing only 4:46 of the second half. Perry was 9 of 14 behind the arc and added seven rebounds and five steals.

Lyon County put up 45 shots from 3-point range and knocked down 16. Cooper Collins came off the bench to hit two 3-pointers and five others had at least one.
Jack Reddick added 11 points and eight assists for the Lyons and Bray Kirk and Lucas Breedlove each scored eight points.
Bryson Walker led Crittenden County with 13 points. Gabe Keller also scored 13 points and chipped in five rebounds.
It was a frustrating end to the season for Crittenden County, who dropped its 13th straight game to Lyon County. Injuries weren’t kind to Matt Fraliex in his first season as head coach. Crittenden lost last year’s All-Region performer Travis Champion early in the season with an injury and several other players missed time. The result was the school’s first 25-loss season in program history.
Lyon County (28-3) moves into Friday’s championship game on an eight-game winning streak.
