This week’s Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ for the week of February 26 is University Heights Academy’s Elijah Walton. Elijah was selected based on his performance in last Saturday night’s thrilling 8th District championship game against Christian County, a game which the Blazers won in triple overtime.
Elijah scored 19 points and was a big factor in the paint as the Blazers claimed the district championship with the 82-81 win. The win sent the Blazers on into the 2nd Region tournament as a district champion, giving them a better draw for the tourney.
The Jersey Mike’s ‘Player of the Game’ is selected each week from one of the five schools in Christian County (Christian County, Hopkinsville, University Heights, Christian County, and Fort Campbell) based on their performance in a big game for their team that week.
